You're a Slack Org Admin, and your company recently acquired a new business unit.

When deciding whether to create a new workspace in Enterprise Grid, Slack recommends:

"Start by assessing whether the business unit's data retention, security, and compliance requirements are different enough from existing workspaces to justify workspace separation."

If stricter data retention or compliance needs are present, a separate workspace may be necessary to apply different settings. Collaboration can still happen through multi-workspace channels if needed. Preferences about DMs (B) or apps (D) are secondary considerations.
