When leading a team of executives, constraints often include limited availability, competing priorities, and a need for highly efficient decision-making. Repeated roadmap rejection suggests the planning approach is not aligned to executive realities or governance expectations. The project manager should adopt a framework that fits executive availability (D)—for example, concise decision workshops, timeboxed roadmap reviews, clear decision rights, and an agreed cadence—and then evaluate and communicate risks created by those constraints (e.g., delayed decisions, dependency risks, reduced feedback cycles).
