The correct best practice is to include a Response action that explicitly returns structured status data, such as isSuccess, errorMessage, or successMessage. The calling OmniScript needs a predictable response contract so it can display the correct confirmation or error message to the user. An HTTP Action is for calling external services, not for returning the final result to the OmniScript. Checking whether returned data is empty is unreliable because an operation can succeed with no returned records or fail with partial output. Returning empty JSON assumes too much and gives the client no clear handling path. Salesforce describes the Response action as the mechanism that ends an Integration Procedure and returns data to the caller.
