The Trigger: A physical change occurred (relocating an AP). In networking, physical changes are synonymous with Layer 1 (Physical Layer) of the OSI model.

Bottom-Up Approach: The " Bottom-up " methodology starts at the Physical Layer and works upward through the Data Link, Network, and Transport layers. Since a technician recently touched the cabling and moved the hardware, starting with the physical layer is the most efficient path. You would first verify the cable integrity, PoE power delivery from the switch, and the physical environment (RF interference in the new location).

Top-Down Approach: Alternatively, starting at the application layer (the video call software) is also a valid " starting point " when the user reports an application-specific failure. Together, the Top-down/Bottom-up model provides a structured way to isolate whether the issue is the physical move or a software configuration that coincided with it.

Why others are less suitable here:

Option B (Divide and conquer): This usually starts at Layer 3 (IP connectivity) to see if you can ping. While useful, it might skip the most likely culprit in a physical relocation: a bad cable or poor signal.

Option C: This is a remediation step, not a diagnostic methodology.

Option D (Follow the path): This is better for complex routing issues where packets are getting lost across multiple hops; it is overkill for a local boardroom connectivity issue.
