The Router task is the core component of the Domino messaging system. Its primary responsibility is to process and route mail messages . It constantly monitors the mail.box file(s) for new entries and determines where to deliver them—whether to a local mail file on the same server, to another Domino server via Notes routing, or to an external internet address via SMTP.
