Adult learning theory emphasizes that adults learn best through experiential, participative, and problem-based approaches. Passive methods such as lectures and testing (Options A and B) are less effective for adult learners who benefit more from active engagement and application of skills during training (Knowles, Adult Learning Theory, 2020). Practicing facilitation techniques within a group setting, as in option D, allows learners to develop practical skills in a safe environment, receive immediate feedback, and relate learning to real work situations. This experiential learning approach helps improve retention and confidence, fostering skills transfer into practice. Furthermore, adult learners bring prior experience and prefer collaborative learning, which is achieved through interactive sessions. Handouts alone (Option C) support learning but do not replace the value of in-class practice.
