System Integration Testing validates whether independently configured systems and components function correctly when connected together. For Manufacturing Cloud, this is especially important because implementations frequently exchange Accounts, Products, Orders, inventory, invoices, actual quantities, and other information with ERP, PLM, middleware, ecommerce, and other enterprise platforms.
The current Agentforce Manufacturing Professional exam guide treats SIT as a distinct Validate and Deploy competency, requiring a consultant to conduct System Integration Testing according to technical requirements. The guide separately identifies User Acceptance Testing according to business requirements, reinforcing the distinction between technical system integration validation and business-user acceptance.
A proper SIT environment therefore provides the controlled environment in which interfaces, APIs, middleware flows, authentication, mappings, sequencing, transformations, error handling, and end-to-end transactions can be exercised before production deployment.
It is not intended to serve as the production backup or archival environment. It should also not be treated as the primary development environment, because code and configuration should normally be built and unit-tested earlier in the delivery lifecycle before being promoted into SIT.
