What is the recommended Gateway Firewall edge size for production environments?

For production environments utilizing the Gateway Firewall—especially when deploying advanced stateful services like NAT, Load Balancing, VPN, or Gateway IDS/IPS—VMware strongly recommends deploying Large or Extra-Large (X-Large) Edge nodes. Small and Medium form factors lack the sufficient CPU and memory resources required for heavy, stateful traffic inspection and are strictly intended for lab, proof-of-concept (PoC), or very low-throughput non-production environments.
