Which type of attack is a Protocol attack?

A SYN flood is a type of denial-of-service (DoS) attack where an attacker sends a large number of SYN requests to a target server, overwhelming its resources and preventing legitimate connections. The attacker does not complete the TCP handshake, leaving the server in a half-open state.
